Excess Skin

Good Morning Men My question this morning is about excess skin. Is it inevitable for WLS patients whether it be a little skin or a lot? Are there any Post ops that have no excess skin? Or does it depend on your weight prior to the surgery and how much you need to lose?

"Depends" on a lot of different factors. Here's what I've got-

yes, it depends on how big you are before your weight loss. The bigger you are the more excess skin you are likely to have when you reach your goal weight. To be honest, when I saw all the bagginess and hanging skin I thought, what the hell did I do? I look worse than before. lol Actuallly, I wasn't that bad as I weighed less then 300 before the surgery. Some will probably need some plastic surgery, not only for looks but to prevent skin infection from the hanging flaps. If I had needed plastic surgery I would have saved some of the skin for a briefcase of something. My surgeon saved foreskins from his circumcisions and made a nice shaving kit from them. Didn't look like much but he played with it, it would turn into a 7 peice luggage set.
