Hey Guys,  surgery went well.  It took 4.5 hours to do because my liver was supposedly 1.5 times the size of a regular liver.  However, Dr.Hunter was still able to do it laproscopicaly, so props to him. Now that I'm home, I don't feel like eating anything.  Nothing seems appealing other than water.  I can't get enough water/ice chips.   I'm craving cheese for some reason and obvioulsy I can't eat that, but I'm really just craving water, is this normal? Also, is it ok to sleep on my sides?  I feel much more comfortable sleeping on my side than on my back.  Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. B

Congrats to you!   I went through that too.  And, you probably won't feel physical hunger at all for a long time (I am out three months and still have not felt  hunger.  You will encounter head hunger though.   I didn't want anything, including water.  It is good you wan****er.  Take it slow, your tastes and wants will come back.

Good advice already,  Hey, you're healing.  Take it easy.  Every day gets a little better.  Just keep getting in the liquids and walking whenever you can.  When I was in the hospital the nurse stopped in and asked why I was still up.  I said I usually don't sleep on my back, she said - "Then don't" and I never looked back.

B, Glad to hear you’re home and ‘on the mend.’ If it is comfortable to sleep on your side, Go for it. This is one of those things like the old joke--- “Doc, it hurts when I do this…” “Then Don’t Do That!” “I want a second opinion!” “OK, …and, your augmentative!” Some find propping up with extra pillows Allows them to get in a comfortable sleep position. Go for it. Keep getting in all of the water you can. It speeds the healing. Hang in there. These first weeks suk for everyone. Remember… It Does Get Easier each week! Best Wishes- Dx
