Dale,

You need to stay on the Dr's office and the Insurance company. That was the only way that I could get mine approved as quickly (3 weeks) as I did.

Hang in there, the "weight" is worth it.

Congratulations Chip - that's great news! De La Torre sat co-pilot in my RNY surgery - you couldn't be in better hands.  The time will go by very quickly - be diligent about following the surgeons instructions prior to surgery.  And if I may, I would also highly encourage you to start walking now getting some stamina built-up prior to surgery.  Walking does wonders for you pre-op and post-op! Best wishes! Cards Fan

Big congrats!  Waiting for that date is probably more stressful than the surgery itself.  I am really happy for you to change your life forever. :)

Chip, CF is right - if your not walking right now - START.  I had worked up to 3 miles a day prior to surgery, (doesn't sound like much but considering that I wasn't doing any at all prior to, I feel pretty food about it). I started walking again 4 days after I got back home from the hospital. I had a Lap RNY so recovery wasn't to bad.  Good Luck, it's worth it.
