Liquid Diet and I get hit with free Pizza day at work. Of all my weaknesses free food, and pizza in particular is the worst. So people are walking around me, with plates piled high and it is killing me. To top it off, they wil be back later tonight with more! Just venting, Troy

You are too close to surgery to screw it up.  Just remember you won't be able

to have pizza for a very long time.  Not that it helps the craving or anything, but

should help your commitment.

I wish my date was sooner like yours, but I have to wait another week.

Good Luck on your upcoming surgery!!

Michael

Hang in there, Troy. I used to be a pizza fiend, too.  However, I've only had a few bites of it since my surgery 15 months ago, and truth be told, I don't miss it. You don't want to mess up your liquid diet.  It's vital you stick with it, because it will reduce the size of your liver (among other things), and that makes the surgery go that much smoother, especially if it's going to be laproscopic. Keep the faith, keep your nose down, and if anyone waves it in your face, give 'em the finger.

Remind yourself that "No food can taste as good as thin feels". That's what its about brother and it is worth it!! Just get the hell away from the the temptation. If you are Christian, ask for some help, You'll get it. God Bless and hang in there.

Pizza was one of my favorite foods before WLS. I still eye it fondly remembering how good it was (and soooo hard to resist!)  But I have moved well past being truly tempted anymore. Pizza is one of those things that aren't t "stomached" easily after surgery thanks to the very small size the stomach and the doughey nature of the crust.  One bite is about all I can take and even then it just sticks for a long time which removes the temptation factor decisively. Hang in there and stick to the diet!  It's worth it.

DUDE!! I feel your pain. We had a SOUPER Bowl Party the night before my surgery and all I could do was enjoy the broth.

DOn't worry about the pizza. You will be able to enjoy it again LATER!!!!!

You are so close to starting your new life that I promise you, 20 or 30 slices of pizza is not worth the new freedoms you will soon be enjoying!

Dear Troy, Hang in there!  You will enjoy pizza again after several months--just not as much. I used to eat a whole tray of pizza with no problem.  But now I can have two small slices.  And I am satisfied with that. Good luck.

Jim -

I was just reading the other posts where guys say they can't or don't want to eat pizza.  I am a Dr. Brader alumnus too, and I eat 2 good-sized slices of pizza (onions and achovies!) every Thursday night after racquetball.

Maybe Dr. B just has the special pizza touch!

I'm right there with you on that.  A whole RedBaron was my dinner.  Now, just 2 little pieces and I'm full.   Hang in there man,  don't screw it up now that you're this close.  Later, Dave
