Long time no post you know how life gets busy. But I have been falling short on energy and seem to get sick more than I use to, I never was one to get sick if I did I got sick and maybe once or twice a year. I was thinking of switching multivitamin I buy the generic sams brand pill form but was recently introduced to a liquid multivitamin and was curious if anyone used one and if so which one would be best for us rny guys. Wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary yesterday and I treated us to a day at a spa not my thing but wife loves that type of stuff well why I was getting my Foot ION Detox (they feed me some liquid multivitamin and the next time I went to the bathroom I could smell it in my urine which my wife says is what is supposed to happen) which I have to say was really neat thing did not know you could detoxify through your feet and the stuff that comes out WOW. But back to the main question I am in search of a good liquid multivitamin that is affordable. Thanks BTW I added a new Before and After Picture.

I am curious to find an answer to this question also.  I am scheduled to have WLS on November 15th and I also understand that I will have to take vitamins for life.  I have seen a few of the liquid vitamins and wondered the same thing.  Are they as good or better than vitamins in pill form.  I would think that liquid would absorb better into the system.  But I am no Dr.

Here is what she feed me when I was there local stores runs around $30 a bottle.

http://www.herbalremedies.com/multi-vitamin-organic.html Let me know if anyone has any other ideas. No I think it was this one. Atleast the bottle looked like this one below. http://www.iherb.com/productdetails.aspx?c=1&pid=5119 Suggested Use

Adults: As a dietary supplement, enjoy its fresh fruity taste by itself, or mix 1 ounce (2 Tbs) or more in juice or morning protein drink. May be taken more than once per day when you need a boost! Great formula for kids as well. Take with a meal. Looks like you could mix it with your protein drink as well.

This would be a good question to post on the main forum to see if any of the Nuts have an input. I am using a chewable that I get from Walgreens - OPTISOURCE. It tastes like the old Bayer Childrens vitamins.

That is the one I take as well. It is one my Nut. suggests.

My surgeon and the dietitian both recommended I take two prenatal vitamins a day since they are higher in vitamins than most others.  Have been taking them since a month post-op along with my iron supplement and Tums and my labs are always textbook perfect.  I guess an added bonus is that if my girlfriend ever gets me pregnant then I am ready.  Anyway, I get a bottle of 240 of them at Walgreens for $17 and they last for four months.

I too am taking the optisource chewables for post bariatric surgery. I was taking chewable centrums but i felt run down. Now, since switching to Optisource, im feeling better. I also take a sublingual B-12. My energy levels, while not making me want to go out and rebuild the city, sure makes my day to day energy levels better.

Ok, guys, don't laugh me out of the room, but my doctor HIGHLY recommended that I take One Source Complete WOMEN'S Vitamins.  She said they are by far the best vitamins she has ever seen for bariatric patients.  I found a partial list of what they have in them online.  Sorry, but it would take forever to type the whole list out, but here are the important ones:     vitamin A         100 vitamin C         300 vitamin D         100 vitamin E         300 thiamin (B1)    5433 riboflavin (B2) 4794 vitamin B6        4075 vitamin B12     1358 niacin                75 folic acid           100 calcium             50 iron                    150 phosphorous   10 magnesium      50 selenium          100 chromium         83 You're supposed to take 2 pills per day, so I take one after breakfast and one after lunch.  You can get them at Wal-Mart, and they are not very expensive.  Also, the same company sells these at Target but under a different brand name.

Hey Reggie, Hope all is goin’ great for you! I’ve taken several different brands Any finally have settled on ‘Fortify’ (a Cheaper version of Centrum) For my multi-vitamin. I augment it with others, particularly B’s And some “Meta-Nutrients.” *see posts above…. If a vitamin is showing up in your urine It’s likely the B-Vitamins, or you’re not getting in enough water. For ‘energy,’ the B’s are probably key. A lot of Bariatric-Formulated Vitamins are chewable To make sure they are absorbed…. But there’s more ways to make sure… *see other post above…. Keep getting your blood work checked by the doc And that’ll give you a fairly good guide. Best Wishes- Dx
