Finally At GOAL!
Saw my surgeon yesterday for my 1 year checkup/gall bladder removal post-op appointment. I am down to 227 pounds. That is a loss of 231 pounds in 13 months. I started in a size 56 pants and am now wearing 34's and 36's. The BMI calculator says that I am at 28 (started at 58) but the doc says to stop with the weight loss. Said the BMI chart is only a guide and that the taller you are (I'm 6'3") the more skewed the chart is. So I am supposed to start eating 5-6 times a day to stop the weight loss. He also said that I no longer need the protein drinks since I will be eating more.
I feel better than I have in 15 years. This surgery definitely saved my life. I probably would have been dead within 5 years without it. But now I am looking forward to many healthy years.
