One year out today...
Yeh, it's been one year since the cut. I was at a high of about 300. I have dropped to as low as 187 and am now around 194. I want to thank many different people for their support. OH for all the help and support, especially the Men's Forum (great group of guys...straight shooters). My wife for putting up with my day in and day out "I'm down another pound!!" I know it gets old after a while but she bit her tongue for my support. I want to thank my PCP, cardiologist, and WLS surgeon for giving the go ahead for the surgery (if anyone of those doctors had nixed it I might be dead by now). Thanks to the Main Board for letting me ask questions at 3:47am and get responses back within minutes, (maybe not good responses, but responses none the less!!). To the California Board for sharing insights to doctors and for meeting together at different times. And lastly I want to thank the Lord for being so merciful toward a dip like me. For those of you who are on the fence about this surgery, "GO FOR IT". You won't regret it. You may say "well what if I die?" You are a cardiac issue just waiting to happen if you don't. Love to all, Brian
Brian,
That was a year already?!?
Seems like just yesterday!
Congratulations!
You have done Great!
Now you just have to get Used to Your Greatness!
Best Wishes-

Thanks all *****sponded. I was just thinking about those who have been on this board and are no longer around for different reasons. I think one of those reasons might be that they our out there living life (with all the good and bad). OH can be a crutch that we can sometimes use, (Linus and his blanket). It is also good friendships and fellowship. Yet because of our fears of being shaped differently now, we may be afraid to take on new projects or challanges. In some ways I am pleased that those people (after WLS) leave OH and move on with the joys and sorrows of day to day grind. It is a new life for them because of the weight loss. They are out there enjoying life. For them (OH) is almost like being a teenager visiting your grandmother or grandfather who live close by. Their face lights up to see you and your energy. They enjoy your visit. But they want you to go out and enjoy your life you've been given. Lets all do the same. Seize the day!! Brian
Nice job ther dude. Glad you are having success and are aware of your blessings. I think ingratutde and/or apathy are probably the most hurtful to a loving Father in Heaven that grants us so much and we struggle to live obediantly in return. Kudos to those of us making an effort.
It was nice to read your post. Hope your experiences continue for you and your family.
