It's time for my six month blood test.I noticed today my gums seemed to look pale. Could this be a blood problem, possibly iron or am I paranoid?

It could be you've just lost a lot of weight and like the way you look better, so you're noticing things you ignored before, like your pale gums.  I just looked in the mirror and my gums are pretty pale, too, but I don't know what to compare them to.  Or you could actually have anemia. Luckily, as you say, you're about to have a blood test, which should clear this up.  I'd wait until after your tests to change your routine, given how soon your tests are; no reason to add another pill to the routine and then miss the chance to find out if you really need it. Either you're fine or you'll need to take some iron.  You're not going to die between now and the test results from pale gums.

Gerald, Could be low iron, But the upcoming blood test will show that one way or the other. How are your finger nails... do the nail beds look pink and normal? If they are also noticably pale, then maybe anemia. The nails are a better indicator than the gums... Getting your B-12? That'll cause pernicious anemia which is worse. Any tingles in the fingers and feet? That would be an indication as well. Hopefully it's easily fixed no matter what. It could be that you are just noticing more. Some people claim dentistry issues Resulting from all the protein supplements And slightly lower hydration.... Could be. Got a dentist appointment anytime soon? All I got.... Best Wishes- Dx
