Just getting a sample of what are some really good protein bars.   You know, with low fat, not too many calories, high protein, low sugars, and TASTE would be good.  Is there such a thing? I have tried South Beach ones, they are pretty good.

Hey Brad, I do really well with the Pure Protein brand bars.  You can get them at Wal-Mart over in the diet section for about $1/each.  There are several different flavor, but they all have around 20 grams of protein, about 200 calories, and usually less than 3 grams.  Just read the labels because I haven't tried them all, but I do recommend the Chocolate Deluxe, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Chewy Chocolate Chip.

I usually like WonderSlim Crisp 'n Crunch bars, which I buy through bariatricchoice.com. There are several flavors, generally with 15g protein, 5g fat, 18g carbs, for 160 calories.

I really like Think Thin bars. I get them at Trader Joe's. They're available online, too. There's chocolate and peanut butter in both creamy and crunchy varieties.

Pure Protein bars are really good too. Don't forget that string cheese makes for a good protein supplement too.

I have done the South Beach ones also. The thing is that I now can't stand the chocolate, vanilla, PB, etc.... I have to do the granola style stuff. I do the Odwalla bars. They are granola based and have 16g's of protein.

if money is a problem for you then make your own. Then you control the fat, sugar and so on. I make mine and I like them in the morning with a steaming hot cup of black coffee. Here is the web site to make your own. Liftforlife.com....good luck... Dave

Wow, what a great i dea!  Which ones do you make?  Some of them seem high in calories and don't list the sugar content.  Don't want to lapse into a coma!   I saw your profile, you are doing great!  Keep up the great work.

I never use sugar or salt (unless I use the low sodium peanuts)....I use a sugar substitute and I also add unsalted crushed almonds, peanuts, sun flower seeds, cinnamon, couple of big honken' table spoons of peanut butter,  crasins and rasins. Today we are making the brownies. I'll let you know how they come out. Dave

Gus,  Pure Protein has come up twice now.  I think I may have to go to Wally World and get me some.   I read your profile, Gus, wow, what a journey.  You should feel awesome about your progress.  Congrats.
