I just moved to NW Montana, and if I wanted could set up a stand on my roof, and get a whitetail or a bear!  they come in the yard. but that wouldn't be much exercise. wild turkeys also wander thru, and a mountain lion wouldn't be out of the question.  I think I'll leave the lion alone.

I can't speak for anyone else, but, as an avid golfer (4 times a week in MN season), my game has changed SO much!  For the better, big time!  You hear about pleople losing distance do to weight loss, but I was bombing the ball.  Perhaps because of the better swing and better contact!  I was just puring the ball with most clubs in my bag.  All of July and most of June was the best golf of my life!

Nice to see some guys hunt here.   I am a bit bummed because my surgery is 10/10 and opening day of gun season is 5 weeks later.  In WI we have a 9 day gun season.  Opening weekend is like Christmas for a kid.    I have delusions of a western hunt once I get this tractor tire waistline reduced.  I did manage to shoot a young buck 5pts and a doe to end my bow season all in a weekend which was great.  Not sure how much I will eat the next couple of months but the memories are great.    Your success rates are similar to here.  The Department of Natural Resources says about 1 in 6 but with all the mild winters we have had I think it may be a bit better.  Actually my dream hunt would be an elk.  I had to laugh at your comments on being stealthy at 100+ extra.  It is difficult to do anything when your sweating, tripping, falling, fatigued and are the size of a chest freezer.  I would to actually slip through the woods and climb terrain with out feeling like passing out.  Nice pics and great story.
