Well really I am 2 lbs below my goal of 180. This morning I weighed 178.   I saw my surgeon last year in April for my first consult, I weighed 365 lbs, I had lost 10 lbs from my heaviest of 375. Regardless of what he said I had to try to do something. The day of my surgery 12-14-06 I weighed 324. Since surgery I have lost 146 lbs and and close to 200 from my highest. I am now less than half the man I once was. Amazing how ones life can change so much in 41 weeks.  I have gone from size 54 jeans to size 34, form 2 and 3 XL shirts to medium or large just according to how they are made.  This surgey has changed my life in too many was to write in just a few words here.  I want to thank all the guys here that post and ask questions, my journey has been much easier because of this forum. There have been many times that someone else has posted a question that I had thought about or made a post that has made me stop and think about where I am, or somehting that I was doing and didn't realize. Some have just made me laugh and we all need a good laugh every now and then.  Now its time to see what my new goals will be. Weight wise I would have to get down to 165 to fall in the "normal" BMI. I am happy where I'm at, may just see where my body wants to stay. I have been putting off working out, maybe time to join a gym. Mainly I want to look at personal goals. Even though I am 49 I feel better than I have in 15 or 20 years. LIFE IS GOOD!! pan head

Way to rock, panhead! Congratulations Hitting the gym is a great idea and will help you maintain the "new you."

Hey panhead, Well done! And it's not just the surgery--you made a great pre-op start on your own motivation. Enjoy your success. Hitting the gym might just get you 165 (if that's what you and your body want). But at this healthy stage, "normal" is just a word you can take or leave. Besides, who wants to be "normal" when you can be one of us?

PanHead, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Now, How is it we started at similar weights- I was 385, And we are similar ages- I’m 50, And you retain “Cool Factor” while I’m a Gooby Nerd? I sayin’ it’s gotta be the Harley! Don’t say otherwise. I’m hanging on to that as my excuse! Amazing Success! Keep it Up!! Best Wishes- Dx
