Had surgery monday to go home tomorrow

I had my surgery on monday morning. Today I had my upper gi and passed. It looks like I will be released tomorrow. I am pretty sore, coughing really hurts other than that things are good. I am looking forward to an interesting journey. Jon

How long does the soreness last? It does not seem to be getting any better. I am probably just being impatient. I know that I just went through major surgery. I had one of the nurses tell me that when the drains are removed I will notice a marked improvement.  On the bright side I slept in my bed last night and went to bed around 10:30 woke up once to urinate and then slept until 830. That was much better than the two and three hours I was getting at a time. Jon
