What is going on? Anyone have any tips for me to lose more? I feel I am doing everything right, but I am not losing.

You are probably doing everything right. If you were like me I was very sucessfull at loosing weight during my six month pre-cert diet for ins. When I did have the surgery it seemed like I hit a wall a few weeks after. What seemed to help me was adding calories. When I upped my intake It seemed to kick back in. I think my body was in starvation mode. It could just be your body catching up to itself. There have been times where the scale didn't move and my clothes still got smaller. Hang in there, it will happen for you.  Welcome to the Mens Forum, any and all questions will be answered, sometimes it may be the answer you want, some times not. The wealth of information here is limitless.  pan head

It's hard for me to give you tips when I don't know what you're doing.  How much are you eating?  How many grams of protein?  Are you walking and/or doing some other exercise? Fact is, at just a couple weeks after surgery, it's nearly impossible for you to be doing too much "wrong" since it's so hard to eat at that stage, unless you are sneaking gallons of ice cream.  More than anything, you probably just need a bit of patience.  10 pounds in two weeks isn't yet a crisis, and could just be within the range of variation.  See what your 1-month and 2-month totals are, and we'll have a better sense of where you're heading. My tips? Try to get over 800 calories (over 1000 ASAP), under 1500, eat/drink over 80 grams of protein (over 100 if possible), take your doctor's list of vitamins and drugs, and walk and/or do other exercise if you can.  If you do that, the scale's result from week to week isn't what's important, because you can have peace that you are on a path that assures success in the long run.

The first month is really an "anything can happen" stage. I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep up the dieting and exercise. The surgery is really just a tool that can cause these two to become effective.

Good Luck,

Dave

My advice would be to throw your scale out of the window, but make sure nobody is standing below. Keep doing what you are supposed to be doing and success will come. Surgery is different than anything else you have done your entire life. Sucess is your only option.

When I started I had to retrain my mind. I had to eat more to lose, instead of less.It will happen.

The other thing to remember is you probably weighed 10 pounds more coming out of the hospital than you did going in.  They give you a LOT of IV fluids while you are in the hospital.  It took me a good 10 days to diurese all the fluids out after surgery.
