One Month Post-Op - 90 lbs Down
Hey Gang,
I went today for my one month post op appointment, and I am down 90 lbs from my highest weight before surgery! I think my doc's office may have screwed up my records though. My highest weight before surgery was 335 (last visit with primary care physician). I worked my butt off for 2 months on a pre-op liquid diet and exercising, and according to my records I was 285 on the day of surgery, but my doc said I had lost 78 lbs in the one month since surgery, which would mean I was at 323 the day of surgery. I kept pretty close track weighing myself weekly before surgery, so I'm not sure where that number came from. I think that was the weight I had at my initial consult with the surgeon, but they were pretty sure it was on the day of surgery.
Oh well, either way I'm not going to argue. I know I've lost 90 lbs, at least 40 of that being in the month since surgery, and I feel great, better than I have in years. I've lost 3 pants sizes and 2 shirt sizes. I also got the OK to move on to stage 4 of the diet and regular non-chewable vitamins.
that's a lot of weight for being little. i was a lightweight. i was 287 on the day of surgery but lost all my weight by 7 months. but that was due to other complications that interfered with my eating. but i lost a pound a day for the first month so you are really peeling it off. since you're not that heavy it may slow for a while so don't get mad. bigger guys lose fast and for months on end while we stabelize pretty fast and that last forty or so pounds take a while. remember, it can take the last 18 to 24 months to lose the rest. as for me i seemd to have found my perfect weight right out of the box but like a lot of guys here i went head first into cardio, i run and swim and then lifted. it seemed to put me right where i needed. so keep up with the exercise and i think you'll get to ideal weight much faster and not have to worry about those last 6 or so months trying like hell to drop 50 pounds. some guys can do some not. either way we all seem to get there so hang tough.....carbonblob
