Half the weight I used to be
To try to put these feelings into words would be futile. I've never been one who can describe love. It just is. It's shout it from the rooftops all fulfilling wonder.
I've never been one who could describe joy. But here it is for me this weekend.
I go in for my 15 month appointment on Friday and weigh in at 262.5. I started this journey at 525. I was officially half the weight I used to be. For one glorious day I could answer the same number if asked how much have you lost and how much do you weigh? Amazing stuff.
I leave the appointment go home and throw on my running gear to get a 30 minute run in. 3.2 miles in 30 minutes. Not bad. Cap it off with a b-day party for a five year old up the street. Couple slices of pizza. No cake.
Saturday. After an early bird golf of the back nine it's a 35 minute run. 3.5 miles. Back home to mow the lawn and get supplies for the cookout. Youngest turned three.
Sunday. Day of rest. Church. Football. Bengals lost again. Seems to matter much less to me now. What can I possibly have to complain about? Wife is now considering the surgery. She's got her appointment with the surgeon next Monday. Has her paperwork all together. The insurance company is on notice. She's hoping to have a date for this fall.
New pics up on my profile. Life is beautiful. Stronger everyday.

You've come a loooooong way baby!
This is one of the few places on earth where being half the man you used to be is something that is desired...a true achievement!
Dan - I'm proud of you sir! I can remember back when you first started and saying "I can't wait until I can do this or do that!" Now you're living it!
Nothing like living the dream huh?

Hey Dan,
What a great post! You've made my day. And note the orange shirt! Not to get all mystic-gaga, but I think that color choice suggests brightness and energy and all sorts of positive stuff.
Anyway, I too am proud of you and happy for you. Now go out and rent "The Incredible Shrinking Man"!
