I got really sick last night, please help.
Actually this sounds more like a FOAMING event than dumping. Dumping usually involves a cold sweat, exits from all portals, and excrutiating pain. If you dump once, you learn to stick to the rules. FOAMIES usually involves something getting stuck, and causes water or foam develop in your mouth. This is usually resolved through a hardy vomit. Both are unpleasant. Don't know if it really makes a difference which it is, both are painful. Hope you have fun on this journey, Rob
Dumping is a funny thing. Some people get all of the symptoms, others just one or two. My diet has me carb loading two evenings a week, when the rest of the time, I'm on low carb. The first and second carb load, I ate too many sugars too soon (should have started with starches and then waited for the sugars). I simply felt weak and even though I was sitting in front of a fan, broke out in a full body sweat. No pain, no diarrhea.
Some people get the foamies and full dumping symtoms simultaneously, others just one or two symptoms. Depends on you and what you eat.
I used to never dump at all, but since going from low carb to carb load, dumped a couple of times. From this experience I can safely say, *contrast* in the diet can lead to more pronuounced dumping. Most of us are on low calorie or low carb stuff. Your body adjusts to that. Then, you up the carb/calorie concentration suddenly with a dessert or some other high calorie concentration and the body bolts by dumping.
So a lot of dumping may have to do with an abrupt change in what you eat, though this is certainly not always the case. I would be surprised if anyone could dump on something less than 80 calories, but maybe some do.
Just a Ramble,
Dave
Well I agree with all!! You have survived your first foamies!!! I am 3 months post op and I still foam!!! I know that dumping effect poeple different. I have a friend that break's out in a heavy sweat. I dont. Each person is different.
Good luck................
