I played the golf course today. The course won!!
My first time out at the local Muni 9 hole since before WLS. It was rough (literally). The trees were jumping out in front of my ball. I felt I was at the beach, I was in the sand so much. I have lost upper body strenth and flexibility too. I use to hit off the tee about 210-220 yards (probably average for most duffers). Today I was lucky to drive it 150-180. And then since I am not hitting the ball very far, I want to try and get that extra power which means I end up pulling the left sholder and that causes me to top the ball!! By the way, you know when your wife or girlfiend asks "how did that thing go today"? And you say "I don't want to talk about". That's how I feel. Women vent on the Main Board about the dumbest things and all the women there lend their support. So step up guys, send some nurturing vibs my way!!!! OK Brian
Brian....dont worry about the distance brutha, that will return. Keep your eye on the ball completely through your swing and your feet stable. You have enlightened me a bit on what I cant expect as my weight drops...I gotta say though as my weight ballooned over the years it really affected my game and altered my swing. The biggest thing was the stamina on the back 9, as I got tired my concentration went away and the scores went up...and up. I dropped the clubs two months ago and promissed myself I would not return until I reach the 200 lb mark.
While you seem frustrated with your round, I would bet a soda you had the one shot yesterday that was struck just right and felt soooo good. Thats what keeps us coming back every time.
Keep Hackin....

My game has gotten so much better post op, I can't even begin to tell you. Pre-op my 18 hold hadicap was 17.something. Now it is 12.something. And I have shot some great scores all year. It really has been amazing. WLS has done WONDERS for my game!
