Started the gym today

About 11 weeks out now.  Doing very good.  I started at a gym today.  A real light workout.  I think I did only 10 reps of about 3 machines, then I used a incline (slight) walker for about 5 minutes, then jogged about 2 minutes, then used the stairstepped for about 2 minutes and finally swimmed the length of the pool 4 times.  I know it was very light.  But I just wanted to try things out and not over do it...  I will probably work out about 3 or 4 times a weekand start building on the sets of reps.  I've lost about 44 lbs. since surgery.  It is slow but it is dropping.  I got down to 306 for surgery and today I'm at 262.  I mainly want to start trying to do something with the excess skin under the arms and lower stomach...  Any suggestions appreciated. Maybe that sounds like a light workout but collectively, you did your own mini triathalon. Great job.  getting the regular exerise helps keep me tomned enough to where I believ it has helped minimize the amount of loose skinI have.  Its much better than I anticipated at this point and i am glad about that.  I got the lower  belly flap and the inner thigh flap and the upper arm at the pits flaps.  I got minimal moob flap which I am elated about as I expected worse there (guess I can toss the Victoria Secret free bra fitting coupon!!). Sounds like you are doing the right stuff and getting some good results. Onward and upward.  You are inspiring!!

Mike, My only suggestion is keep on keeping on. You've gotten off to a smart start. Easy does it, but do it, is the way to go. You'll feel results fast and see them sooner than you can imagine. Nice, balanced routine.

My one piece of advice would be to utilize all of the resources they have for you at your gym.  *Group exercise? Check it out. Learn at your own pace and challenge yourself. *One on one with a personal traininer? You bet! Learn how to use all the machines and come up with an individual work out plan. Revisit it every few months for tweaking. *Cardio? Super fun. Treadmill, eliptical, swimming, biking. All an effort to increase the heart rate in a safe environment. I've found mixing it up keeps it fun and keeps my muscles guessing too. Congrats on the workout!
