I saw my Doc today we have talked and have a plan set. We are going with the laparoscopic gastric bypass instead of the Lap Band. I start my 90 day diet tomorrow so I just ate my last big meal. It wasn’t really that big. I’m on a 2000 cal diet for the next 90 days for the doctor. I have to meet the Heart doc, the Nut, go back to my Doc and get another letter. See the Shrink and something else that I can’t remember. Oh there’s going to be a doc calling me for something.  Not sure how the fast food places around her are going to do but if you have stock in Popeyes chicken or KFC you might want to sell….

I called my broker this morning and told him to sell Popeyes & FKC.  Thanks for the tip! Best of luck, your 90 days will probably go by pretty fast.  I didn't start my diet until about 60 days out. I had to lose 20 lbs before they started.  Now I am 9-10 weeks post op (Open RNY).  Dropping weight and feeling great.  Look forward to hearing more about your progress.  If you have any questions along the journey just ask us.  Where are you having your surgery is Dallas?   I'm from Houston and had my surgery at the VA Hospital in Dallas. Not sure where its going to be yet. I have so much other stuff to get done and the 90 days seems like a long time but making doctors appointments in the right order is going to be the hard part.

Best of luck on your journey. Just keep telling yourself, "I can do this". The more you loose before the better your results and success will be after. Let this be the first day of a long and wonderful life. You do this for you and all the people who love you and want you around.  God bless.

Just curious about the dieting issues.  I have gone through all the screening and on Monday I meet my surgeon and we schedule a date.  At no time has the dietician, the surgeon facility, the pcp or anyone mention a pre-surgery diet.  I have spoken with the surgergeons scheduler (the surgeon is board certified, works at the facility my pcp recommended has great references etc.) and has informed me that if the openings are still there I could have the surgery the following day or by the end of the week but definitely by the end of 30 days so they do not have to redo lab work.
