The Sunday Weekly Weigh-In ____September 16th! scale (Continued thoughts, prayers and well wishes out for Bob and family....) Congratulations and Welcome to our New Guys. For those of you headed in next week--Have the Greatest! For those of you just home— "Keep Sippin' tha****er, and Walkin' Bunches"- Hang in there, And all of you "Livin' on Liquid only Pre-Op Diets!! Same thoughts- It Does Get Easier/Different, Each Week! Yes, using the scales can make some crazy, (Slower loss is Still Loss!) -But- Keeping track and forcing myself to "Watch It!" Has been the "What works for me," for maintaining my loss. I’ll eat, but know that I need to exercise a little bit more If the numbers climb just a little. That way, I only make "Little" adjustments to my weekly routine. If the "Scales Make You Discouraged?" Then STAY OFF of Them! But for those who Are weighing in- Drum roll-------------------------------------- Hop your Azz up on the Scales! How much have you lost? Since Surgery? Or in Pre-Op Diet? And has the Scale moved this week for you? If so, How Much? My Starting Weight? – 385 + All Time Low – 179 Me?-   184  sitting unchanged for a few weeks now... (OK, It's actually my Saturday Weight, but I'll be up and out the door in the morning before I get a chance to post!) So, What about YOU? (NEW GUYS AND LURKERS? Scan back over the last months of this weekly post, And you’ll get a fairly clear picture of the fact that there isn’t a "Typical" progress, Just massive, persistent, overwhelming - PROGRESS!) Keep It Up!!! Best Wishes-Mike Wazowski

I'm down 2 lbs this week (1 kg , anyway).

So I'm going to call it 170 this week.

Still on 30-40 grams of carb per day and forever seeing veins that I've never before seen.

Kinda like this carb loading every 3 and then 4 day plan. I get lots of good slippery liquidy starchy carbs in, like tapioca desserts, then follow with some mashed potatoes. Going from low carb to sugars suddenly from low carb does cause me to get lethargic and break out in cold sweats (even with the fan blowing right on me), so I have to be careful not to load with too much sugar.

After six weeks out, I get to double my carb intake to 60-70, then when I want to maintain, I can do low carb 1.5 days and end with a carb loading evening meal. I'm looking to do that about December.

Have a Great Week,

Dave

As  I get further along in this the more I marvel at how different my body is these days...and quite thankful.  I've been able to enjoy life, tailgates, birthday parties, etc. and my body has responded normally and I'm still shocked.  Four months ago I would have gained 10lbs with what I ate, but only.4lbs over a very bad eating week.  Don't want to make a habit of it nor plan to, but just thankful.

Starting Pre-op: 352.2  RNY 11/13/2006: 345.2 Last Week: 221.2 This week: 221.6 (+.4 lbs) Total Loss: 130.6 Have a blessed week guys!!!

Rolling along pretty well.  Still active, but haven't lifted weights in a couple weeks, hoping to restart tomorrow.  Also, my desire to eat has creeped up big time, causing my intake to go up a couple hundred calories a day (and that's despite resisting).  I have four competing theories: (1) it's related to the time off from weight lifting; (2) it's purely psychological; (3) it's related to my body weight and genetics, as this is the weight zone at which I normally start "starving" all the time; (4) it's normal hunger returning, and not a bad thing.  I'll watch to see if starts being a problem and then address it if necessary. Here are my stats 25 weeks post-op: Highest Weight 375+ Pre-Surgery Weight 350 Last Week 250.8 This Week 248.2 Week Loss 2.6 Total loss so far 127 Loss since surgery 102
