Howdy Gents! Winding up week 4 of my running program. Working on longer stride****ting with the front of the foot, etc. Thanks to whomever posted that running form link. I'm working on getting it all together. Anyway, here are my stats so far. No mileage goals since I'm in a training program (minutes more important than miles.). Miles completed August: 124 (58 cycling) Miles completed through September 14: 26 (24 running) Percent of month completed: 45% Percent towards 50 mile goal completed: 52% Hope all is well with all. Look forward to hearing how you're doing. Stronger everyday. -Dan

Hi Dan,

Wish I could give you a mileage total. Mine must be 50, with sprinting 5-7 times a week.

If you liked the running form stuff, you should check out the www.postech.com forum and look for the videos of the hamstring exercises done with rubber bands. These have really helped me with the ankle-hamstring-hip leg pull sequence.

This video seems to be the most concise summary of Pose Method requirements. Romanov explains exactly where the feet should be in the lift and "push" stages, as well as the proper body angle:

Perception is most important, but my friend who wins 10K's tells me that it's impossible to sprint without automatically fixing many aspects of your running. Evidently, running fast enough that your body angle falls forward makes it difficult to have extremely poor running form. The fast cadence, quick turnover and balance that are required force quite a bit of natural adjustment.

Best Wishes,

Dave

Dan, here's a good one on balance and running. The video works better if you let it download some and then watch. The exercises begin about half way in, if you want to fast forward:

Best Wishes,

Thanks Dave. I think I'm going to be ready to try HIT after my running program is through and I've got my first 5K under my belt. I'll be interested to see how the training shift changes things to be sure. Thanks for the links as always.

Good luck on that 5K, Dan!
