I'm home
Hey guys - I made it home late last night. The RNY went fine, my doc said I was a boring operation. I'm all liquid for a awhile then Friday I get to start protein shakes. More liquid but at least there is some substance.
Not a ton of pain, I think I've taken two doses of the pain meds today instead of the 4 could have taken. Trying to sip and walk, sip and walk.
Luckily I was able to sleep in my bed on my side - I just jammed a pillow up next to my belly for some support.
Good luck to all who just had or are having surgery this week!
Ted
Welcome back home.
Now that you are on the loser side,...we'll be needing some farts,...well those too but I mean some FARTs. Be sure to share those magial moments with us when you start noticing your new leaner abilities and dimensions. One of my first was dropping a shoe size before my waist ever budged.
Hold on for the fun part now. You've endured the agony if getting approved and the anxiety of the day of surgery. If you continue to heal without complications, you got nothing but revelations and exciting times ahead,...at least until the new wears off, but that usually takes 12-24 months.
Be sure to join us for the weekly weigh ins and the monthly mileage challenge,..and uh, expressing your opinion and asking questions. If you got a question, others do too but haven't asked or its been long enough its worth asking again.
May the FARTS be with you!!
Hey Ted - welcome home............ sip and walk - you know the drill...... Very cool you are back in your bed so quickly - i was in my recliner for about 10 days or so before i was comfortable enough to sleep in my bed again....
Congrats on such a successful surgery, and hang on - it's a crazy ride from this point on.................... :-)

Welcome home and aboard the losers bench!! I too was told my operation was boring, that was a good thing, but your life in the next months will be far from boring.
Hang on tight because it is going to be a great and wild ride. Don't forget to stink the place up with your F.A.R.T.'s
All the best

Welcome home,. we have a seat for you on the bench. Just keep sipping & Walking. Just listen to the doctors. I'm 9 weeks out (Open RNY) doing great. When you finally start on solids in a week or so, take it easy. 9 weeks out I can eat almost anything, no problems. I just can't eat more than 4 or 5 bites...
My biggest problem was that I wanted to gulp down liquids, I felt hydrated... I mentioned I would give $100. if I could gulp down a bottle of water. At 9 weeks out I can't gulp it down, but I can take regular swollows (Mouth full). Of course, only one or two...
