Hey "Sponge Bob!" How’s Hawaii? Don’t tell…It’s Perfect and the weather here Blows right now. Congratulations on your PS. Here’s my advice… Kill every germ with in 20 yards of where you’ll be once home from the hospital. Infection is still one of the most common complications. InfectionsPost "Baby" yourself when home from the hospital. That first week? Treat it like every incision is held only by wet tissue. Avoid any strain on any stitching. A lot of folks still have sutures open up and have to deal with slowly healing an open place. Just be insanely careful till your body closes those gaps With collagen and tougher scar tissue. Ice packs really do help the swelling. They are uncomfortable, but less swelling means faster healing time. Really small ice or Shaved ice works best in an ice pack. No ice cubes "stabbing" or poking through the bag. That’s why so many say "Frozen peas! Any small, pellet or shaved ice feels the least uncomfortable. Also, Upping your Protein prior to surgery and upping certain fats Also speeds healing. Nutrition For Healing Compression Garments can also speed healing… Checkout- Compression Garment Role in Healing After PS Hope all this helps…. Have the greatest! And keep us posted! Best Wishes- Dx
