I feel your pain, man. I share a lot of the same symptoms. I would have literally sworn my soul to anything by this point in my weight loss journey i'd feel like a million bucks. Here I am, 8+ months, 224lbs lost and except for a lot less physical pain, i still feel the way I did pre-op. Here's something to consider in your case that I discovered with mine. I discovered a lot of my problem is my blood numbers are off. I'm extremely anemic. My energy level is for **** That depresses the hell out of me. When I have no energy, I feel useless.

I hear you bro. I was in the same way. My mood would turn on a dime, mostly to my wife, which was very strenuous on our marriage. My WLS clinic PA told me that when you lose weight so fast that the testosterone stored in your fat has no where to go so you go into these "roid rages". I also go into funks where things that I love to do, mostly play paintball and workout, seem to be uninteresting for a couple days, then after a few days of letting them alone, I am balls to the walls with it again. I didn't want to talk to anyone either because I didn't thin i needed it. I knew what was wrong and dealt with it myself. If you think you need to talk to someone, don't hesitate.

Jason, Hey Dude.  Would say “How ya Doin?” But sounds like “Not so Hot.” You’ve lost the weight but aren’t enjoying the “New You.” Happens a lot. WLS makes Huge changes on Life, and Metabolic Chemistry. Both of those can screw with your head. There’s a very delicate balance of Neurotransmitters in the body. All of them are completely tied to Protein synthesis. If there is a little too much or too little of any of them The “Hardware” of the Brain has problems running the “Software.” Your Mind (software) can get way out of whack Due to simple, small, physical imbalances of transporter proteins. Call your PCP, tell ‘em what you are feeling And get it fixed. It may take several weeks to feel fine, but they’ve gotten pretty good With the Depression/Anxiety drugs here lately. Hope you are feeling Up soon. Hollar if you need a place to vent. Best Wishes- Dx DxNewPostingPhoto.jpg picture by DxxxxE

Guys, Club member here too with the unexplained anger and on and off depression while being tickled to death with the new lighter me.  It like light and dark at the same time.  Throw in few personal quirks and if I weren't so happy I'd slit my wrists. I learned potassium helped with the depression.  One banana one afternoon and withing an hour, I was huming while workif g and realized man, an hour ago I was gloom and doom.  Now I take  potassium pill every morning with my other stuff. Then I volunteered to facilitate a WLS Support Group and took the OH.com Support Grp Leader training last Saturday.  Learned some things I am incorporating.  lack of energy and epression and even anger can all be from varying degrees of deficiencies in protein and certain amino acids intake.  Intakeing 200 gms of protein doesn't mean our bodies are absorbing or benefiting from 200 gms of protein.  If we are getting protein but are anemic/low on iron, the protein isn't being metabolized efficiently or being used even though we are geting it in.  Aminos are  low dosage but things our body doesn't produce and again, aid in allowing the body to efficienetly utilize the cells, glycogen, and sugars to metabolize and help us feel energized.  And magnesium to help metabolize energy from body sugar. I started taking the Walmart brand Body Fortress Amino 3000 (BCAA) this morning and a magnesium supplement (250 mg).  In addition to the potassium supplement, I take 2 prenatal multi-vitamns because they have 28 mg of iron instead of the standard 18 of most.  I take 2 every morning and 2 more in the early to late afternoon. I have upped my B vitamin intake to 2500 mcg sublingal with a dose of liquid B-Complex in the morning and another 2500 mcg in the afternoon.  I am averaging about 15-20 miles a week walking/jogging, and HIIT walk/spprint trainng to try and improve my performance in an upcoming 10K in Oct from my time last March. My protein intake is a protein drink at breakfaset (23-46 gms), 2 protein bars (Pure Protein Chocolate Delux 20 gms , 170 calories each) a a mid morning snack, and again as an afternoon snack.  I eat 4-6 bars a day so they alone get me 80-120 gms plus breakfast; 100-160 gms plus whatever food I get in such as ravioli, shrimp, cheese, refried or baked beans, boiled egg whites. The increse has helped me feel better until recently.  I feel I'm starting to hit another energery and depression wall.  I'm hoping the additional protein I'm going to try and the addition of the Aminos and magensium is going to make a difference. Thought I'd throw this out there in case you want to try and see if it is of any help to youse guys too.
