Protein shake recommendation please
My suggestion is that you might way to try the New Whey 42 gram protein "shots". They are pre-measured liquid vials that taste pretty good (at least far better than the chalky powders).
The nutrition profile is good with virtually no carbs, fat, or sugars:
I buy them here: http://www.vigorousliving.com/idsnewwhlipr1.html but they are available a lot of places. I found a similar 27 GM product at the counter at GNC but I can't remember what it was called.

I have used the Unjury Regular and chocolate for almost four years. I also invested early in a Magic Bullet which helps to make a great shake every time. Unjury is an amazing company. I can order their product on a Tuesday night, and they always have it sitting on my doorstep the next day. I now have them on auto-ship to save a little money. The Magic Bullet in our house gets used at least four times a day. I actually have a spare one in the basement just in case the kitchen one breaks down. It is so much better at mixing smoothies (shakes) than any blender I have ever owned.
I have a morning ritual of making instant oatmeal (regular) with a scoop of regular Unjury, 1/4 cup of Natures Way Pumpkin seed granola, 2 tblspoons flax seed meal, and a tsp cinnamon. This gets me going early. Great for the heart and the colon.
I also do 2 shakes during the day (homemade), either Choc. Raspberry (with frozen raspberries, rasp. yogurt, light soymilk, Davinci syrup, and Unjury) or an pineapple-orange freeze (with frozen pineapples and/or mango, orange mango yogurt, light soymilk, Davinci syrup, and Unjury)
Since I am caffiene-free (four years now), I get my energy boost from my shakes.
Each to his own but this works for me, My nutritionist and surgeon have told me that spacing your protein throughout the day is key. So I still do five or six meals a day (two of which are shakes). They also believe that the protein you intake should fill you so your not always hungry, so they are not sold on the protein bullets and liquids. Since I'm never hungry I'm sticking to their recommendations.
Good luck.
Rob
I like any whey powder. I have only gotten it in vanilla. I usually add it to a couple cups of milk and a tablespoon of peanut butter. Or on occasion I have kaluah flavored Davinci sugar free suryp that I put in. Tastes like a kaluah or peanutbutter milk shake and the powder is reasonable, 13.00 for a 25 serving container... Got me craving a peanut butter one now!!!
Wow, quite a bit of info, thank you all. I already have my Magic bullet (that thing is really awesome). I think I am going to have to experiment with them for a while to find some combo I like. The scoop of peanut butter idea sounds great too! I have heard of the "shots", may have to give them a shot too. I guess my best bet is to pick up a small amount of one try it out, if it's good, GREAT, if not maybe try another.
Thank you all, I learned a great deal,
All th best,
Chris
Hi Chris,
I'm 11 months out and bought, tried, and gave away many products with different flavors. Still, the only one I have for breakfast every morning is Wellemnet's Bavarian Chocolate. Even this one needs some doctoring up to taste *good*. I put two scoops of powder, 1 banana, ice, and 4-6 ozs of water in the blender. Almost all the protein I need in a day in one glass!
Good luck finding your favorite.
PS...it was the brand that USED to be sold at Costco, but now you have to go online to find it.
