Hi Guys, It’s been a while but the summer allows me very little computer time. I had my band put in on 8/27 and am feeling great! ( I will update my profile soon) My only issue at this point is trying to find a protein shake that doesn’t taste like plaster.  Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks Chris

I've had great luck with Optimum Nutrition - Double Rich Chocolate, Vanilla Ice Cream and Banana Cream.  I mix these with water, but you can with milk also (but I find them too thick with milk).  24 grams or protein per scoop, low in carbs, fat and calories. There are others, but for the money and the results - I stick with this.  Look for Optimum Nutrition (ON) 100% Gold Standard.  It's Whey Protein Isolate which delivers the best absorption of the proteins. Thank you, I will look to see if I can find any and give it a try, it is one I haven't had yet. I guess I would look in GNC or a place like that or do you get it anywhere else?

I wAs all set to buy the Optimum Nut. stuff and then went to GNC and the stuff was $70 for 30 servings (scoops) and then went to Target and bought the EAS whey in vanilla and chocolate, both together cost me $30 for about 45 scoops. It has 23 g protien a few carbs and 1g sugar. I know everyone says no sugar, but it adds taste and this stuff is pretty good. Jack

That is what I use also.. I put two scoops in my sports jug and ad a bottle of Aquafina and drink it on my ride to work. Takes me 40 minutes to get to work I usually leave about 2 onces in the bottom. So I guess I am getting about 41 - 42 grams of protien this way. I really like the tast also. Target has another kind as well, I can't think of the name but the numbers are all the same and it is a little cheaper.

Cheaper is always better for me now. I think Amazon has some pretty good deal on the  Opt Nut stuff around 32.99 if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the advice

I just use HDT 5+1 vanilla and flavor it with sugar free syrups from DaVinciGourmet.  I get mine at www.netrition.com, but they are available at most online nutrition, health, or body building stores. We had a pretty good discussion about shakes a couple days ago.  And, I think Randal posted several recipes for smoothies last week.  Therefor, I suggest you look at the older posts for that info.

Chris, When I was in the liquid phase I used peach Nectur.  It tasted like fuzzy navels.

Thank you all, I will certainly have to give some of them a try. I guess I am looking for the best of all worlds, great taste, inexpensive and tons of protien.  I will also look through some of the older posts. Thanks again, Chris
