Aftre losing 240+ pounds over the past 18 months I really want to break out of my old lifestyle of sitting around the sofa watching TV all the time. I wanted to get back into my life. I found a really great website that has really helped me get back in the world so I thought I would share it with the locker room. It's called http://www.meetup.com/  There are all types of local groups and interests including lots of single women for the guys that are looking. I now shoot pool on Thursdays. Go hiking and play volleyball on the weekend and  I am meeting lots of folks that only know the new Tim not the old fatass 460lbs Tim I use to be. Susan and I are both on the go again instead of stting around feeding our faces. I did a 8 mile mountain hike this morning and then went an played volleyball for three hours this afternoon. Last weekend was a volleyball/pool party. It was blast to hangout and party as a member of the regular guy club. It is really great to be back in the world instead of hanging out on the sideline. As CF always says "step off the sidelines and get into the game...". Good Luck!!

Sorry to here that Dave, it has been really great for me to get out into the world and get my butt moving again instead of falling back into old habits.  It is a lot of fun to power walk with others instead of just doing it by mself. We have begun having weekend road trips to hike all the state parks in North Carolina. We normally get a group of 20-30 folks so it a lot of fun but we walk/hike at a 3-4 mph pace so some folks get left behind and we have to stop every couple of miles to let them catch up. Since I walked 1000 miles last year it has been really easy for me to leave the crowd in my dust. It stil amazes me that I can do this since 24 months ago I was 460lbs and I could barly walk to my truck at the end of the day. So how is life treating you these days, still doing sprints and power lifting in the garage? The last pics you put up were outstanding, your ripped enough to go on the body building circuit brother. When is your next trip home to Virginia? We should get together for lunch next time your back this way since your right up the road. Take Care, Tim

Hi Tim,

The group walk sounds like a lot of fun. NC has not shortage of nature and scenery, so should be an all-around good time.

You've really been putting in the miles and your weight loss shows it.

Still sprinting and lifting here, but this new low carb diet (or should I say "low-carb - carb load" cycled diet, loading every 3 and then 4 days) has been a little hard to adjust to. I'm hoping I'll adapt a little better or get the carb balance right. I'm probably okay up to 70 or 80 grams, but right now I'm on only 40 a day. Feeling like I've got a combination of hypoglycemia and low blood pressure.

Like a body builder? Thanks, but I'm way too thin.

My folks moved out of Virginia, so I may only be in Richmond for 1-2 days after I land there at Christmas time (probably 22nd or 23rd of December), but it sure would be great to see you. After that I go North to WVa and a week or so later south to South Carolina.

Best Wishes,

Dave
