Blood Results Question
Hey guys, as many of you know I am heading to Antarctica on or around Oct 6th for a 6 month stint with Raytheon Polar. Now i have a questions. I received my labwork report from LabCorp (Well my PCP got it during my physical) and my WBC was high at a 12.9 which for me is normal (I have had a full cancer work up and nothing by a hematologist so) but what i am confused about is my RDW was high at like a 9.8 and my TOTAL Cholestoral was low at an overall of 98.....My HDL was normal and my LDL was actually low....My ALT (Some liver enzyme) was slighty high but the PCP did not think anything of it since I have been told I have Fatty liver...
My question is, has anyone heard of having a cholestoral TOO LOW? Or Does anyone know exactly what RDW is? I know it has to do with the width of the cells and can be influenced by dehydration which I may have had since I was fasting for 6+ hrs before the draw....Any ideas? Thanks everyone.
