If I only had known......
I'm putting together a workshop for pre-op patients on the practical stuff we do post-op. You know, the little stuff like: you can use a mason jar on the blender to make your shakes; or that a little sip of water an hour after the foamies start can help. That stuff.
So, what would you have liked to know going in to this process? Please also list which type of surgery you had.
so there's a little morning dance we do to get our special meals prepared for the day and lunch making for the job site. slice up cheese so i can munch on protien all day with some beef sticks etc.
what was the question dude.........
Explain sugar alchohols and how they can cause dumping...Maybe include a warning about how it really IS important to eat ENOUGH if you don't want to stall...How about links to some of Dx's re-posts like the "what to bring" "all about dumping" "plateau buster diet"...Maybe explain the pyloric valve and how not having ones allows us to eat more then just the size of our pouch...

GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe people need re-emphasis that regular multivitamins are not enough -that additional B12 is necessary. On top of that, our ability to absorb B6. then microminerals such as copper, cobalt, etc. may be hindered, so vitamins should contain all of these.
Also, people who hate protein shakes (I liked them) should know that they can get cheap protein, use it to make a syrup with about a teacup full of water and just down it like medicine -OR- get Unjury protein and mix it with regular food to get the necessary protein. They don't actually have to suffer through entire protein shakes.
Maybe these two?
Thanks,
Dave
