I am 1 week and 3 days out. and I am experiancing a seroma.  It actually caused me more pain and discomfort than the surgery itself.  The good news is that it drained today, and I feel so much better now.  Anyone else ever had a seroma? Kevin Hodges

I had a small seroma from my WLS last month. The top layer of skin in the suture area healed over, but there was still a gap in the skin below that top layer. I didn't know what it was, but the doc said it was not unusual. She made a small incision and drained the thing. It drained some more 2 days later. The fluid was caused by some fat that had had its blood supply cut off, which had liquified. I didn't know it was a seroma until I read your post and googled the term. Mine didn't really hurt, it just freaked me out at first. Joe Bear
