Hey Fellas,
Just got back from a long weekend in Maryland where I finished my hardest triathlon, to date.

If anyone's interested in the blow-by-blow (literally), it's all in my online journal:

Going back to bed, now.
Must... recover.... ouch.

Be Well,

AJ,

That hurts! I remember being on the receiving/ giving end of 1-2 of those. I used to purposefully become "reach heavy" whenever anyone's arms were approaching: I'd make sure that I left my arms extended for the longest possible time, then I'd also brush my upper arm against the side of my face each time so that the arm would become a barrier between my head and other people's limbs.

Keek up the good fight!

Dave

I liked the "sometimes I forget" part.  That is what this is all about.  Who would have thought that guy with the paint brush would finish any of those things.  Let alone all of them.  I must admit that I have no clue about the biking or swimming times but the running time is pretty damn good especially after the other two.  Great job.

Whew! AJ, Great story. I am constantly amazed at what at what some guys can do, and your one of them. Your transformation is--to use an overused word--awesome. I too like the "sometimes I forget" photo. If that doesn't inspire us, nothing is going to. Thanks for posting the results.

Congrats AJ, you the man! I feel the same way about not finishing a cycling event. I've always said they will have to scape me up from the side of the road before I quit.  In cycling, there are 3 levels of "quitting" so to speak. The worst is having to get into the SAG (meat) wagon. Next would  be walking your bike up a mountain. The lightest infraction is temporarily stopping before you get to a designated aid station. Fortunately, I have been able to avoid all such infractions so far. Sounds like WLS have provided us with a similar level of drive and determination.  Keep up the outstanding work, AJ. Your success helps motivate me big time. Thanks man!!! Boner

Make no mistake about it, AJ. You are an inspiration. I came to work this morning feeling like absolute **** ( sorry for the abruptness, people. I failed Poli. Correctness 101) I'm struggling badly with some major anemia right now and energy level is waaaaaaaaaaaay down. But, I'm fairly certain the problem will get corrected. I came to the site and read your journal. If you can believe this it made me feel better.  Thx for the inspiration and Good Luck!!!
