Good Monday morning everyone!  Time to rise and shine.  It's going to be a wonderful day.   Our challenge today is to just simply be the best person you can be.  I can give you a challenge every day, and will continue to do so, but they all boil down to one thing.....you being the best YOU can be.  Simply put!  BE YOUR BEST!  You'll do great! So, who's up?  What cha sipping on?  Me?  I have my Maxwell House in hand and it is so good.   Have a wonderful, blessed, and happy Monday being your best!

Mornin’ Randall! I’ve been up since 5:00am and headed out the door. Just Plain ole coffee this morning. Nothing special. Except I'm dragging a thermos full to the office. The University is back in full swing And I’m back on a very regular schedule. Hope you’re headed into a great week! Best Wishes- Dx

Dx, good morning, just curious, did you see my post on Glucosimine and if we are able to absorb it adequately to do any good?  If you know anything, I'd appreciate you input.  Have a great day!  By the way, have you decided whether your going to the Atlanta conference or not?  I'm still on the fence.  Be good to meetcha if you do. John, No I missed the post about Glucosimine. I don’t know if RNY prohibits absorption, but that may not even come into play. Glucosamine and Chondroitin, had quite a “buzz” back in 2000 after some studies came out showing they had effect beyond Placebo.  But, later studies have found them (separate or in combination) to fair no better than a sugar pill. (and that’s for people with their digestive system intact. There is conflicting info out there as to the benefits of these supplements.  At present, the med-community comes down to the recommendation that- “SOME People MAY experience improvement of symptoms of acute inflammation, and show SOME reduction of degeneration of joint cartilage.” The most recent studies show it as doing nothing.  But anecdotal evidence of people who “swear by it” remain.  I used it back in my first year Post-Op when my PCP took me off Celebrex. (or whatever the NSAID was that was helping my knees.) I experienced improvement in my knee pain, but that was likely from dropping 200lbs and not from the Glucosamine. Don’t know for sure. Check out-

Glucosamine at Quackwatch. I am planning on heading to Atlanta , but haven’t secured the logistics of it yet.  I won’t really know until mid-week.  But most likely I will be there. Hope all is going well for you. Best Wishes- Dx
