overall, I am pain free.  except a little around the area where my stomach was cut and stapled.  i get like a lump in the area that is tender to the touch, especially after i injest something. When I lay on my back, it seems to go away, and a rolaids helped.  Also, being 5 days out, I havent had a bowel movement yet.  Plenty of gas and urine though.  I dont see my Dr. till wednesday.please give me all your opinions.  I respect you guys and your thoughts.

I'm no Dr, but I know I had the same tenderness.  It was explained to me that I is the new pouch getting used to intake - especially the new stiches/staples area.  I had to take Pepcid for about 3 weeks to eliminte the tenderness. Mine went away in time, urs should also. And of course - discuss with ur Dr on Wednesday.

Kevin, Even though you aren’t scheduled to see the do****il Wednesday… Give his office a call in the morning and pass on these symptoms. It sounds a little like an incisional hernia, but that may be me misinterpreting By reading rather than hearing you explain it. 5 days out no BM? I don’t know what’s been the intake, how empty your system was for surgery And so have no idea what should be expected. Your doc’s office (even if a nurse calls back) will know. Many docs do allow or even recommend Milk of Magnesia. But, your doc will have specific idea in mind that has been more successful for his patients. One thing about the "… lump in the area that is tender to the touch,…" Does it feel hot to the touch? Feverish in any way? That’s a sign of infection and although more common than most problems It can get serious fast. Are you on anti-biotics? Checking you temperature? That’s a typical way to monitor for internal infection as well. One other…was your surgery Laproscopic? In that case, the incision where they put in the camera tends to be a bit more sore Than the other incision sites due to excess movement and positioning During the surgery. Sort of bruises up the internal tissues there. No matter what, call the office first thing in the morning to get near the top of doc’s list of- "Got to answer these questions…" Most Bariatric Clinics/Offices are really good about getting back with info and advice. Hope it’s nothing, and you are feeling better each week! Best Wishes- Dx

I dont have a fever at all. and it is the incision that the camera was in.  Now that yoy mention it, it really does feel like a bruised area.  I had plenty of them back in my younger fighting days. I was on an 8 day liquid diet prior to surgery, and i didn't cheat. and now it's pretty much liquids as well, so may be that I am just empty.  I kinda feel like one may be coming soon though. I'll call the bariatric center tomarrow.  Thanks alot Kevin
