Huge stall

So I am 3 weeks out.  Things are going pretty well, I have lost 35 pounds, but I have hit such a massive stall and it is starting to scare me.  I weighed in last Monday at 321.5, and this past Tuesday it was 320.5, and it still has not gone down.  I mean, this is now an 8 day stall and I am only 3 weeks out! The longest I have heard of this was like 4 days after 3 weeks or so, but I have basically been stalled since week 2.  I introduced food lastweek, so I think that must be playing a role, but I eat sooo little (so far averaging about 600 calories a day with protein drinks).  I have also been walking 1.5-2 hours a day.  It just does not seem possible for me to not be losing weight. I guess I am just looking to see if you have heard of such a long stall so early in the process.  I mean, I know the weight will go down I guess, it has to, but it is hard not to be afraid that this is where I am stopped (stupid logic I know, but the fear is there.) Thanks for the rant.  Back to sippin water and protein drinks and...ugh...pureed chicken.

All I know is, from the many posts I see 2-3 weeks is even common! 8 days supposedly can not even be called a "stall."

I hit a stall at three weeks out too. it lasted for a litle over a week, then the scale started moving. From my understanding this is very common at the three week mark. You body kinda goes into starvation mode and says hold up one second. But it always starts to move again.

Happened to me as well. I think I went into starvation mode. I had lost about forty pounds on the pre-cert diet and about 2 to 3 weeks out my weight loss seemed to stop. I tried upping my intake, more small meals, and it seemed to work.  When you puree the chicken add a little SFsweet relish, cheese and maybe a little onion, and of course low fat, or light mayo and it's a pretty good chicken salad. I also did the same with tuna and turkey.  pan head

I'm 8 weeks out today, and I lost 36 pounds the first 3 weeks... and only about 20 in the next 5 weeks. Those are the only 2 times I've been weighed since surgery, and that was on 2 different scales at 2 different Doctor's offices. I made it a point to NOT be in a hurry, and to NOT drive myself crazy by stepping on the scale very often until I get close to goal.  I hardly take in any calories to sustain me, and my fluids intake and protein are on the very low side, so that's slowing progress down I'm sure.

Well thanks for the encouragement.  When you make such a huge life changing decision it is frustrating to see it stop working for a little while.  I am staying off the scale til Sunday.  Wish me luck!  Thanks for the tip on the chicken salad too.  Next week I can have soft foods and am sooooo excited about it.

It happened to me too.

I was so discouraged but when it started coming off again.. it happened fast.

Now I have plateau's fairly regularly.. just happens.. I either have to make a change in my diet or a change to my exercise routine to break it.

Keep up the good work.. you'll see the results again soon..

My stats are similar to yours;  I stalled at about 3 weeks.  I've had one other stall since then, but now it's  coming off.  I would stick to the food plan - make sure you not  "undereating"  and starving your body.  For me, aerobics is the key to breaking a stall.  You will lose.

Yeah, I guess it is helping to see that other people had similar situations.  I have been measuring my food carefully, and I am changing up my workout routine a bit to see if I can jumpstart again. I was talking to a lap bander about it, and he said "oh yeah, most people who have RNY only lose some of their weight."  I knew he was horribly misinformed, but it stuck since I am stuck.
