NEck Pain/Arthritis connection

This could be completely unrelated, but my GP Doc thinks the pain/stiffness in the back of my neck is probably arthritis.  I have lost 100 lbs in the last 6 months via RNY - and although I take my vitamins and gall bladder meds regularly, sometimes I forget to take my calcium (mostly due to having to take it at a different time).  Has anyone heard of a connection here?  I am also perpetually fighting to stay hydrated.  Any connection? Thanks, David

hey Dave... can I throw a different angle at you..... this is just me....but I get a pain and stiff neck....because i'm cold...I was so accustomed to standing in front of the AC, without a shirt...it never occured to me that I was cold.... you might wanna give it a thought russ

David, I have not experienced this, but I was thinking that you might be able to strengthen the muscles in your neck and get some relief.  I do a weight routine and part of it is the shrug while holding dumb bells in each hand.  This has really made a difference for me.

David, Sorry, no “stiff neck info.” There was a guy who got a Viagra stuck in his throat once while trying to swallow it…. But that’s another story….. In 5 years of reading the WLS Boards I haven’t seen – “WLS gave me a Stiff Neck” yet… So I’d think it was unrelated…. Hope it clears up for you soon. Best Wishes- Dx
