Cranial Overload!!!
Anybody else feel this way as their surgery approaches?
I've got less than 2 days to go, and I feel like I'm cramming for a final exam.
When to do clear liquids? When are full liquids OK? How much protein? What's the best protein supplement? What pills to take? Incentive spirometers. Calcium chews. Binders. Walking. Exercise. Sublingual vitamins. Blood-thinner injections. And what the hell is creatine, anyway?
I keep thinking someone's gonna say: "Oh, you don't know that? Well, too bad. No WLS for YOU, fella. Go home and try again next year!"
I wish this was over with....

And what the hell is creatine, anyway? stuff that makes you fart....put it on a shelf....for today.....

Hey Boxman - my OCD was out of control before surgery, and i didn't use 75% of the CRAP i had "prepared" - but, it helped with my anxiety before surgery. Just make sure you have vitamin supplements at home, and the clear liquids (broth, jell-o, SF popsicles) and if you missed something, you can send someone out for it.
Best of luck on surgery day - just follow the timelines on when to introduce new foods and you'll be fine. Also, remember you can always call your surgeon's office in the first days/weeks after surgery and ask any questions you didn't think to ask before.........
Look forward to hearing about your continued journey,
Chuck
Box, You sound just like some one with a surgery coming up on Wednesday! Very Normal…. By now, you’d be amazed at how much crap you know. Breathe….. Don’t try to deal with the next 4 weeks all today. Just get through each hour by itself… That old saying…. "What’s the Best Way to Eat an Elephant? One Bite at a Time." It applies here as well… Get what rest you can prior to surgery, Keep the doc’s office on speed dial for when you are first home. They really are pretty good about ‘getting back to you’ with answers to calls. Have the Greatest this Wednesday! Best Wishes- Dx

Don't worry, be happy. Close your eyes and it will all be over with. When you wake up your on clear liquids. Mine lasted 3 days (every doctor is different) then I went to liquids (except juices due to the acid content). On check out of the hospital I am sure they will have you a game plan, if not, just ask the experts here on the forum. Best of Luck.
