OT: Antarctica Update
Hey guys, as ya'll know I recently posted about a possible position with Raytheon Polar in Antarctica and I actually had my interview yesterday and today at like 6pm I received a call from Raytheon Polar extending an offer to leave for Antarctica on Oct 1st under a 6 month contract making 658 year.
They did clear up the tax thing. They said that since Antarctica doesnt have a formal government and we are a government agency in the USA that I will be taxed in my home state which is NC. Now granted I COULD use a PO Box in Oregon where they dont have state tax but hey, Im not temping uncle sam....HAHA.....
So what do you guys think about this? I am excited. After about 5 hrs of meetings non stop here at the bank they called and offered it right when I was loggin onto my email to check the updates and everything. Any advice?

Sounds like a great oppurtunity. My dad worked for Raytheon here in Houston, New York, and Lousiana.

That is great. I envy your future experince. If you are good about keep a journal or blogging it would be great to make a record of the experience. Then when you have time to you look back on how the adventure changed you and your perspective on the world.
