I have a question please help

How's it going guys ?? I got a quick question, I will be 2 weeks post op tomorrow and within the pass few days, I have been getting pains on the side of my belly where the drain was at. it seems to come and go throughout the day. I assume that area is still healing after they remove the drain, so that's the reason for the pains ??? I am going to speak to my doctor tomorrow but I just want to get some feedback from you guys.

Not sure, but a lot of people get aches and pains the first few weeks from the surgery and from having been inflated with gas (stretches muscles and puts pressure on everything). The left side is where the Y limb is located and I remember having some "awareness" of that area for several months after surgery. It's good, though that you're going to the doctor though to get it checked out.

When in doubt it's always best to tell your surgeon about any issues you're having post-op.  I experienced discomfort in the area where my drain was as well after the tube was removed and it eventually went away.  Best wishes! Cards Fan

Sorry JB but I didn't have drains.  They were going to put them in after a week and my left kidney failed, but the day they were going to go-in, the kidney started up again on its own and I avoided the extra puncture after 3 days of excessive antibiotics. Good luck,...hope you're better soon.

Right after surgery, your nerves are starting to regenerate....it can cause the odd pain ...or sensitivity in certain areas.  If the area feels warm...call your surgeon....if the pain starts to increase, or you start running a fever ....call your surgeon and go to the ER. Scott
