Months ago and probably several times since then we've had a discussion on weighing scales. I purchased 440 scales from Ebay and they were crap, after working them over a few times I tossed them.
I normally weigh at the local vetinarian clinic, but have decided their scales are off, not too many 350 pound dogs out there and the kg had me weighing 315, I wish. So...
Do you fellas have scales that really work and doesn't cost 300.00, please post your reply.
Thank Ye,
BobM.
Wait a couple of 3 months and you can weigh on regular scales. I had WLS 26 Sept and 25 Dec (Christmas; 3 months later) my wife got me a digital scales from WalMart. They are accurate with the Doctors scales at the surgeon's office and the 3 month weight,..er um,..wait,... made the numbers worth weighting for,..er um,..waiting for. I kept weighing myself because I couldn't believe is was my weight. Before that I could only weigh myself at the surgeons office 45 minutes north or the weight room at the local High School when I could get to them. My family doctor's scales didn't go over 300 accurately.
You life is about to change. Keep you money in your pocket,...you're gonna need it for the smaller clothes you're gonna be needing.

Bob,
This is the one that I have: http://www.amazon.com/Tanita-HD351-Digital-Memory-Function/d p/B0000U6F2M/ref=sr_1_20/102-6027491-6101735?ie=UTF8&s=home- garden&qid=1187037434&sr=8-20.
It is a Tanita HD351. It goes up to 440 lbs. and it has memory functions for up to 5 different users. I purchased this a few months before my surgery and it has held up really well. I think you will like it too.
Good luck.
Jim
Bob,
My wife bought me my scale last year because our regular scale couldn't go that high and I couldnt even weigh at my regular doctors office because theirs only went to 350. I dont know what she paid but here is a link to the site http://www.myweigh.com/mediumscales_xl440.html They have a 440 pound model which I have and a 550 pound model. As another poster mentioned, if you are already post op then I wouldnt bother spending the money because in my case I was able to use an ordinary scale after like the first month. I have never had a problem with this scale and I see that according to their website that it has a lifetime warranty. I have compared it to my other scale and they both seem to be right on. The only thing that ever bothered me about this scale is that it talks and blurts out your weight to anybody nearby. The website says this feature can be turned off so I will have to investigate that.

Hey Bob -
a scale is nice to have and it is fun to watch the numbers pass in the beginning; HOWEVER.......
your journey and success will not be defined by numbers alone. just chill a while and you'll be able to use a common scale soon enough.
all the recommendations above are great if you choose to get a scale. i personally own the Tanita and love it. the best part about it is that it was a gift and i didn't have to payfor it myself!
good luck and keep us posted on your success.
Danny
