Man, I've been on the liquid fast for 4 days and it got to me and I ate.  I had a can of chicken (2 servings) tasted like cardboard (no fat) but I mixed it with prepared horseradish sauce and FF cottage cheese, then to top it off I had a whole dill pickle and a cup of FF chocolate pudding, along with my shakes....FRISBEE!  i'M SO MAD AT MYSELF!

OK you fell off.  Get back on the horse and keep riding. Just don't keep falling off because you did once.  The better you do the easier it is for the surgeon to move the liver out of the way to perform the WLS.  You fail enough, could prevent the surgery.  The more you lose prior to surgery, the lower the weight you start rapid weight lost from.  Those two points helped me keep my focus.  It has its mentality tuff periods but its two weeks and you are down to 10 days. Lets ride cowboy!

Everybody has been there. Don't beat yourself up about it. Do get back on your plan. Hang in there. Honestly, you are smack dab in the middle of the hardest part of this whole process. JP

You can do this Bob. You screwed up. What is in the past is in the past. As I tell my wife LET IT GO! Just don't do it again. What helped me was to stay busy. When I find my self wanting to stray from the straight and narrow it helps me to be doing something. Find somethng to take your mind off your hunger or the desire for food. Most of the time it will pass if you can just get through those first few minutes.  My surgery only took 45 minutes. The surgeon said it was because I followed his diet plan for me.  Hang in there. pan head

Hey Bob, Listen to what the guys are telling you: Most of us have slips. What matters is to contain them and do your best to resist temptation. Think of your ultimate goal and ask yourself if a serving of mediocre soup, a pickle, and some pudding are worth delaying or stopping that goal. You know the answer. Today offers a fresh start. Take advantage of it and don't beat yourself up. You'll get there.

Don't worry, be Happy.  Ok, so you got off.  Get back on.  I know the time is getting closer.  One slip is ok.  I forgot, when is the date?  I was on liquids the week prior to surgery.  The night before surgery my wife and I went to the movie.   I ate popcorn...  I never knew that if you ordered a bucket of popcorn and ran out that they would fill the bucket up again free.  I went back just to see if they would... and they did.   It's depressing thinking of all the popcorn I missed out on...  Personally, I don't think you did to bad.  It could have been a steak and baked potatoe...  Cottage cheese has lots of water or liquid in it, pudding is not bad, shakes ok.  the worst might have been the pickle but it has lots of juice and you probably chewed the chicked real fine and of course the horseradish probably just passed through.  I can justify anything, almost. Anyway, hang in your almost home. Mike

Don't worry Bob, in terms of screw-ups that's not a very big one.

Sounds like you're back on track already. Keep in mind, though that you will have 4-6 weeks where eating that stuff will be deadly, unless you put it all in a blender (and even then for the first 2-3 weeks).

Dave, When I post op, you couldn't pay me to eat that canned chicken - it got stuck yesterday when I sinned, tastes like cardboard.  I'm going to give the rest to my Golden, he likes basically everything - especially watermelon! BobM.

That's right I suppose on low carb, the watermelon would put you over the 20 gram limit pretty easily.

Even the surgery's not a guarantee for slimness toward the end of the weight loss period, but soon you'll probably be dropping 100-150 lbs pretty easily. Just hang on to that thought!
