Hiking adventure with my son!

Hey Guys! I had to share. When I was in High School I tried to hike one of our local mountains (it's only listed as a moderate hike at just over 1100 feet) and I was unable to do it. I only made it about 1/2 way up.  Now, 20 years later and 4 and a 1/2 months post op I decided to give it a try again with my 9 year old son. We made it to the summit. It was still a challenge but I have to tell you it was exciting and encouraging to have made it to the top. I am a little sore today. It was an arduous climb but it was exciting to make the climb with my son. It's this type of activity that persuaded me to have the surgery to begin with. HOW AWESOME!  I was all emotional yesterday after we got home. I was just so shocked and overcome that I was actually able to accomplish the climb. Without this surgery I don't think I would ever have been able to do something like that with my son. It was a great day!  Thanks for letting me share! Steve

Sounds like you FARTed on the top of that mountain for everyone below to hear! Awesome! I'm looking forward to hiking up some of the little mountains around Phoenix when I get back there at the the end of the month...keep it up!

I think that is just wonderful!   -I'm 56 years old, 3-weeks out.  Wish I had thought about surgery when I was younger for the benefit of my children.  Now they are all to old to do those types of things.   Best of luck and keep climbing... Mike

And there it is. Small victories that wouldn't have been possible before. That's the kind of thing to which we can all relate. Aside from feeling better and looking better, being able to give your son that memory that he wouldn't have otherwise had with you. Nicely done!
