Medic Alert Bracelet?
http://www.military-patches.com/bracelets/medical-bracelets.html
this is where i got mine. i hate wearing them so i just keep it in my truck when i work but wear it sometimes if think i'm going to get killed. it's a manly bracelet! i got it in red like the one on the page and it says "no n/g tube". that's it. i don't want to explain myself. i don't talk about my surgery to anyone and no one can figure out what the hell it means anyway. i've been in the ER about 4 times in the last year and i put it on in case i passed out. i believe we ought to wear it while driving that's why i put it about my visor. i figure the medics will see it or it will flop around somewhere near me! i should be better about wearing it though but like you i hate jewelery. my doc''s office always gushes when i wear it to see them. of course it's just for them! you can get dog tags too that are pretty cool. i guess i'm in a job that you can get injured in a hurry and badly so i keep it close when i work......carbonblob

Reminds me of the POW bracelets everybody wore during the Vietnam war.
I have my medical records of the procedure scanned in .pdf on my PDA, but that does squat if I am unconscious in a car wreck.
As much time as I spend in rental cars, in unfamiliar areas, it is not an out of the question type scenario.

Mine says:
GASTRIC BYPASS,
DO NOT BLINDLY
PLACE N/G TUBE, USE
ENDOSCOPY.
ALLERGIC: BACTRIM
Then it's got my Medic Alert number.
They also have neat little USB Flash memory keychains that you can put a LOT of information on.
It's all good - I'd rather have one and be a little over careful than not have it and wake up with a severe injury. It's not that much money.
Just my opinion.
Here's the link to the necklace I bought. I chose it because it is not "out there" all the time like a bracelet. I am told that EMT's look for bracelets and necklaces when treating some one.

I just clicked on the link and it didn't save what I did. The one I purchase was the gold dog tag with the red emblem.
I am very happy with it and they will change the engraving for free for a year, well if you do the paper work. I meaning to get around to that.
I decided to wear one because of riding a motorcycle most everyday and for the most part by my self.
Also I have not really told very many people that I had WLS. Just a private person and its none their business. My wife use to tell me I am not a very friendly person. She eventually gave up on trying to tell me any thing.
I do know a guy that had the emblem tattooed on his wrist with sleep apnea written under it.

Yeah I couldn't believe he had it done. The worst part is it was not done that well and it was so small that over time it has faded and lost most of its detail. He had it done on the inside of his wrist now you can't really tell what it is.
I have a 58 pan head "Duo Glide" and a 99 ultra that I just got back today from a 80,000 mile service. Ready for another 80,000 I hope.
