Need some food ideas

Hey guys, It's been awhile since I've posted as the summer has become really busy. I'm 6'3.5" and got down to a low of 192, but that lasted all of 2 days as I went back to 203. I maintained there for a couple months and slowly worked my way back up to 215.  I had a tummy tuck and some other stuff done earlier in the summer and slowly watched the scale creep up.  I haven't been eating very health as I've been on the run (no excuse) and been eating a good bit of stupid carbohydrates. I'm moving back up to school this week where I'll be cooking for myself again and I wanted to know some good things to eat at almost 2 years out that will help ramp up the weight loss so I can get back down to around 200 and maintain.  I'd like to keep carbs under 20 g a day in order to go back into ketosis. B/f the weight gain, I was eating basically tuna out the can and chicken which was very dull.  I'm looking to find some easy high protein ideas that I can manage on a small budget.  Thanks for your help.

Easy meal fix. Chicken with Black beans. Buy the frozen diced chicken in the bag. Cook about 4 oz in a pan, add about a cup of canned Black beans, a little shredded cheese and a good dose of Pace Picante Sauce. Simmer it down to a good consistency, stirring regularly. Tasty. Almost 0 carbs, and very affordable, and it doesn't get much easier for a home prepared meal. Speaking of Carbs, "eating a good bit of stupid Carbs"???  WTF? Knock that **** off. Never forget, Sugar is the enemy! Good luck. JP

hey man - i'm single, and use my crockpot all the time.    if you don't have one, they are pretty cheap, and plenty of recipes online.....     plus, the recipes are VERY easy to modify and adapt to your tastes - but, i'll make a full recipe (and, i have the large 6 quart crockpot), and then freeze a bunch of individual servings in 1 cup freezer containers (i have about 25 contatiners)...........     I also make meatloaf, and serve individual servings - i substitute parmasean cheese for the bread crumbs, and it keeps the carbs down.....     i cook a couple things like that on the weekend, and have PLENTY of food for the week.   i can take leftovers to work, and easily microwave one of my individual serving containers after work for a nice home-cooked, healthy meal. I also eat turkey chili with beans - and, top with cheddar/jack cheese - pop in the microwave, and top with a dolup of fat-free sour cream.   VERY tasty, and cheaper than wendys chili!!!! i also eat a lot of deli turkey and cheese.   No bread or crackers - just the meat and cheese, with some fat free mayo and mustard...............     Good luck - the crockpot is a godsend to me - it helps me keep things creative and i don't get bored with my meal choices....   eating healthy doesn't have to be boring :-)

Special K high Protein- 3/4 cup with 1% Milk is 140 calories- 12 gms protein. Hell, you could eat that 10 times a day and stay at a Calorie loss. It does have 14gms of Carbs, but they are low glycemic. If you are looking to stay on Atkins induction style Super Low Carb…. It’ll work for a "quick fix." But, for many, "Dieting" leads to the same trap as "Dieting" did Pre-Op. There are higher stats for success associated with those who set a eating pattern they can keep for Life. Yes? But, if you’re just looking for a temp way to get back into Ketosis, Then- Get a bunch of Ostrim Meat Sticks

They Rock as between meal or "on the go food." 0 Carbs, high protein to fat ratio. GNC carries them. The Fajita Strips Chicken in a bag is also super easy. Micro-wave a handful with some Low-Carb B-B-Q sauce and it’s pretty good stuff. A "low-carb" favorite of mine was the "Faux-Tato-Salad." Use a bag of frozen cauliflower, micro-wave it till soft, And then mix up a big batch of potato salad just substituting the cauliflower. If you go all the way and add chopped Boiled egg, It’s awesome. With the egg it’ll keep a few days in the fridge, Without the egg it’ll keep a week. It satisfies that "I SO What some carbs!" urge. If you are going full out low-carb- Keep eating plenty of salad so you don’t have a constipation issue. Hope you get back to a "Life-Long" success, and balanced healthy eating. Don’t be too freaked by the little bit of bounce back weight. You’d probably deal with it well by just knocking off and sweets And White carbs, without going all the way to Atkins (Un-Natural) Diet. Many do. ….just sayin’……. Have a great time back at school! Best Wishes- Dx

I crock pot.  Easy meals and we get free meat (my in-laws have cows).  chicken vegetable or beef vegetable soups can be good also.  I try to snack on nuts.  I keep them in the office and in the car.  Also keep a protein bar in the car and office.  Tuna and egg salad with a little mayo and Mt. Olive sugar free pickel relish.  Add a small amount of salt and pepper and your good to go.  Frozen shrimp ($$), but only a few will give you a protein lift.  Peanut Butter (sugar free), cottage cheese, beef jerkey, frozen vegetable that you microwave, protein bar (low in carbs), yogurt (non fat), Wendy's Chili...Brian
