Question about ribs (the kind on your body)
Ok I have a question......I started at 492 lbs ....i never saw any of my ribs before...even when I was younger I was so heavy that they were buried under fat.....now at 6'1'' 202 lbs....when I do not have my shirt on...I can see my ribs when I move around (when I'm standing still they are not visible...but if i lift up my arms they are easily seen...even though a light t-shirt.
I work out 3 to 4 times a week, and am trying to build muscle...it's slow going. I'm not trying to lose any more weight...even though I'm still considered overweight, most of the weight I have on my body now is redundant skin around my mid section.
Is this normal? I know it may sound weird but i've never seen my ribs before....and it's kind of freaky to see them for the first time in my life.

Scott,
seeimg more is not nessasarily a bad thing.
I bet you see more of Mr. Happy since yiou lost the weight, right? And I bet that was no concern for you!
When you were young I bet if your Mother saw your ribs she would have said she has to fatten you up, I bet you would never relate to being fattened up (been there done that).
I see a lot of youg girls today with skimpy bathing suits and you can she their ribs, I don't see any harm in it, it just means your thinner (congrats)
Dan

Thanks Dave,
You and CD have kind of been my inspriation and guides in the whole weight lifting arena...so I was concerned when I started seeing ribs that I was doing something wrong......like not eating enough protein or something. ......and I don't want to look sick or anorexic. Hopefully in another year or so, after plastics and more training it won't look so pronounced.
