Hi Guys, Yesterday was my seven month follow up with surgeon, really 32 weeks today.  I weighed in at 202 with clothes on, I always weigh at home without clothes, been between 195 and 197.  He had the results from blood work done last week and every thing was within normal ranges, except one of my liver enzymes and It is down from a couple of months ago though. He said it was just from the sudden weight loss and not to worry about it. Iron was low and is now in the low normal range, protein, B-12 everything was fine. he told me to keep doing what I was doing and to come back in six months, which will be three days after my 50th b-day. I have to go in next week for a bone scan. It has to be pre-cert. and they are doing that today. I took a pair of my old pants size 54 with me and he had half of the office staff in there looking at the difference, now I am wearing size 36. It felt good and a little embarssing at the same time. I look at those now and even get in them and cannot beleive I was that big. At the same time when I go to put on my pants now I look at them and think I will never fit in them.  The Phys. Doc saw my name on his list and came out and asked me to come into her office to chat. She is a very nice person. She just wanted to see how I was doing. She asked about the usual hot topics. Food, depression, relationship issues, self image, emotional issues. We had a very good talk, she wanted to congradulate me on my succes and remind me that she was there if I need her help. The after care there is top nocth. Breifly spoke to the Nut just to say hi.  I kind of feel bad sometimes to post how good I have done, when I read about what other have gone through. But I think it is important for others to know that some do go through without alot of problems.  I replied to Bob in an earlier post that I would probably have to revise my goal from 180. I am getting close to that now. When I reach it I will rethink it then. 169 I think will put me in the normal BMI range. Oh, to be normal.   pan head

great job panhead. please don't feel bad for posting how easy a time you're having. i can't speak for all the guys who've had problems but i for one love hearing great success stories from guys who fly through this surgery. actually i think a lot of guys have a pretty good time with it. even though guys like me have had trouble it's only temporary and we're still glad we had the surgery. it's a blip on the charts so to speak. it's a bummer to be sure but overall we're much better off than we were or were headed.

sounds like you have a great team. same here. that's a big deal. some guys don't have that support. keep up the good work.....carbonblob

PH, Congratulations. Actually, your experience is the most typical. Some folks have complications, They are in the minority. Some folks have Long-term complications from malnutrition, They are in the minority. Some folks never adjust their eating and life stlye to lose their excess weight, They are in the minority. But a but-load of folks who post on the Boards are specifically asking for help/advice

Because they are the ones in that minority. "Hey, any advice on how to enjoy this easy great new life?" Not a great conversation starter…. Or at least not one that’ll draw huge numbers of folks To commiserate and offer ((hugs))- "Oh, Me too, isn’t it Wonderful?" Happy Endings are "Endings," Because they don’t offer much in the way of suspense and drama. Yes? If Brittany wasn't shaving her head, and that Lohan chick wasn't in ho****er... And 'Paris' was just a City instead of a train-wreck... Would we ever hear their names? Once it’s "Happy Ever After," it’s time to move on out for the next adventure. Thanks for hanging around and sharing an example of What the Majority of folks are facing! Do keep us posted if you're photographed by the press-core Caught in a sex-scandal with those gals! Keep it Up! Best Wishes- Dx
