Good News, Bad (Sorta) News
Well the good news is that the catheter has been removed. Ahhhhh! Now I can start walking like I need to.
The bad news is that apparently I am not completely voiding the bladder.
So for now they upped my new prescription and say if I have any issues they will teach me to self catheterize,.
But on the plus side with a smaller catheter than they have been using 14 Vs 16 (Yeah, Thanks Alot!) Hopefully I won't be going that route.
I have an appointment next week to actually meet with the Urologist to see if we can get this straightened out (no pun intended).
Other than that all is well at the moment, and the weight loss continues for now.
Keep Well All,

Dan,
By any chance were you on diuretics prior to surgery? I was and learned, the painful way, that cutting back on them prior to surgery can impede voiding and make it appear as if there is more of a "problem" than there is. Just a thought. Good luck.

Doug, interesting point. I was on furosemide up until the day before surgery.
But no one has mentioned this at this point as a possibility.
I hope that's all there is to it.
But unfortunately the output has slowed down since removal and self catheterization is looking more likely. Problem is they haven't shown me how nor have thay given me the gear yet. Hopefully the tap will turn on again before it gets to be a problem.

I had problems voiding too. The catheter insertion caused a little scrape in my urethra in two places. We didn't confirm this until last week when the urologist checked my uretrha and bladder with a camera (cystoscopy)...The first one had formed scar tissue and he had to dialate it - which means he stuck a metal rod in there to tear it open - holy **** did that hurt! - the good news is I can pee just fine now, the bad news is that it keeps sticking to itself and I have to pull it apart twice a day! He said ninety percent of the time these strictures come back and they have to be re-dialated and if it happens in less than two years he would operate on it...Oh, well small price to pay for the weight-loss!
