Welcome to the locker room.  The journey you are about to take is a great one, that will change your life for the BETTER forever I had my surgery on 5/16 and I am already down over 80 lbs.  Its amazing.  The good so outweighs the bad or inconvenient. We are all friends here, and any questions you have will be answered here.  I know i have gotten tons of info from here. Just be sure that you do what your doctor tells you.  Its quite important to follow his instructions.

DD, Welcome to the Men's Board. Pre-Op jitters are as common as deep navels out here. Throw out any questions you may have and someone here most likely has experiences to share. Have the Greatest next month! glad you found the place. Best wishes- Dx

Welcome to the right place. This is a great site for support, info, encouragement, and, when needed, a kick in the butt to get with the program! (And lots of us need that kick.) Nerves are normal, but at least you're now on the fast track. So hang on, you're embarking on one heck of a great trip. We hope you check in whenever you want or need to.

Congrads on the Date! We are always on dude. Any topic, anytime. You are in the worst of times now.  Getting approved is the most trying.  Waiting once the datet is assigned the the most nerve-racking.  Second-guessing yourself and well-wishing family and friends will be full or advice as to why or why not go through with this.  remeber what you have done and been through and why you looked to WLS.  You have to make this choice for you and not for or because of anyone else. I can tell you, if you are spared the minority of people that have complications, you will love the results.  I am 10 months out and don 177, 144 since surgery and am loving life.  I was a t a point where surgery could have killed me because my hear was failing.  I was going to die anyway so if surgery did it, so be it.  If it didn't, I had a chance to get healthier tand that is the choice I made,...to try to get better.  It has worked and I am excceedingly happy and pleased with the outcome.  My quality of life is so much better.  My habits are far less focused on food and more on family and activities.  It is a better lifestyle.  I recommend it to you. Best of luck. I'll be watching for your future posts. May the FARTS be with you. Joe

Hi! and welcome.  Perfectly normal.. what you're feeling. Nobody was more scared on the day of surgery than I. In fact, the anesthesiologist saw how great my fear was that he played a trick on me. He told me that he's the guy that's gonna make me go to sleep.. and then he told me not to worry because he has alot of steps to perform before we get to that. He then asked me where I worked, and before I could finish the sentence I was out. If I could get through it, then you'll be fine!

Welcome to the bench.  I am five weeks out now, and dropped 56 pounds in that time.  I tell you, sitting on that bench for weeks and months before the surgery was hard, and not in a happy way!  But also, let me tell you, you need the time to get your head around things mentally.  I know I used that time to start the things I would need to do once I had surgery:  Lots of water, walking, not drinking with meals, hesitating between bites, etc.  It made it all a lot easier after the surgery.  Welcome to the club my friend!  Hold on, it's going to be a ride!
