OT: Like to be a fly on the wall at the Pearly Gates today
I agree Greg,
A lot of people say she is/ was a very accepting, sweet person (in spite of the "look"). Unfortunately, no one will ever know if she simply got caught up in the misdoings of her husband or the PTL.
The order did get really screwed up, in the crash didn't it. Wonder if lightening struck the OH server when I made that post? lol
Best Wishes,
Dave
Hey guys, I think you might be surprised. Never be surprised by the potential grace of God and His forgiveness. She was certainly an odd individual, no question about that. But what is she accused of? Being a thief, embezzler, fraud (although it was her husband who was charged), she was considered guilty by association by most everyone else. Yet the same book that references the pearly gates says this about a thief's redemption, "There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” .... "Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Luke 23:32-33, 39-43 So Jesus was either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord. He was a liar - he was saying something that he knew was not true. He was a lunatic - it wasn't true but he was so maladjusted he believed it to be true. He was Lord - he was able to forgive those who were truly repentant and do what he says here, thus forgiving the thief. Sorry if this sounds preachy. I didn't come on the boards to be preachy tonight...I just think if you were a fly on the wall at the pearly gates you might just be surprised. What she and her husband were involved with was horrible and hurt a lot of people, no question. But it's not greater than the grace of God nor the end of the story. So I truly hope she is in heaven...then there is hope for all of us. And that is what the gospel "good news" is all about. Have a great day! Greg
