3-Weeks out from Surgery... my take on things so far!
Well, 3 weeks on the losing team and my first follow-up visit to the surgeon's office. My first time stepping onto a scale since pre-op. Day of surgery..... 284, Exactly 3 weeks later..... 248 . That's 36 pounds in 21 days! Unbelievable! I've hit 2 "virgin" holes on my belt already, and my 42 pants, which were tight enough to make marks on my body before op are now falling to my knees without a belt. I've made it a point to walk(fast) at least every other day for at least 40 minutes until my legs get accustomed to movement and jarring before I get more intense(jogging). Muscles have been very sore some nights, but I'm out of work for awhile and am able to get enough sleep to satisfy them. I'm having a bit of trouble getting enough fluids and protein, but I still move on and try to do better the next day. Problem is that I never really liked eggs, cottage cheese, and tuna in my life, so to try and eat them now is even harder. (you tend to get nauseated easier now) . I haven't thrown up or dumped, but I've had to immediately had to run to the bathroom with the runs a few times as soon as certain food**** my pouch. All in all, my overview so far is that this was a very good move for me. I used to take a handful of medications every morning with coffee, but now I don't take anything but vitamins and Chantix to help quit smoking. My thighs are no longer vying for position while trying to rub the other one out!(ouch!) , and I seem to be past most of the head-hunger that attackied me in the beginning. Overall, I give this new life a "10" compared with the old so far. Take care guys!

Thanks for sharing, Triple-Beat. I'm a month from surgery
3 weeks? You’re just Now pulling past the Hardest part. It keeps getting easier…. Soon the nausea business and odd stomach reactions to foods gets to be a thing of the past. Congratulations! You’re off to a great start! Keep it Up! Best Wishes- Dx

Thanks guys! Dex... you're not kidding about the stomach's weird reactions to food now. It seems to do flip-flops as soon as something enters it. I'm so glad to hear that it shouldn't last forever. And to eat a pork chop or piece of chicken would be Heaven compared to now. I pretty much hate the foods that I'm allowed now, and alot of them make me want to gag if I try to eat them a second time.. even if the first time was okay. Sometimes I wish I had my own IV setup at home so I could start a drip when I go to sleep at night. I'm not getting my liquids in very good. Well, take care for now!
