What you can eat further out depends on the surgery you had....each has it's own restricitons....but yesterday I ate this (i had the DS): B: 1 cup of Cottage cheese topped with life cereal and a banana S: GNC 50 Gram Protein Slam (actually this tasted pretty good...it was the first time I tried it...50 grams of protein in 15 oz..which is kind of overkill for post bariatric patients) S: Part of a Mango, and 1 small plum S: 2 bags of Seismic Pizza Snacks (high protein crunchy snacks) and a can of diet coke L: Salad with roasted chicken and ranch dressing S: Apple D: 2 Tacos with a cup of yellow rice then I went to the movies and had 1/2 a large popcorn with extra butter and salt a medium diet coke, and a peanut butter/chocolate candy bar. Late night snack: Taco salad (about 3 oz of the taco meat, with lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, and ranch dressing Scott
2 weeks? Those first weeks suk for most everyone. ….but you’re just pulling past them. There’s a lot of "Head Hunger" the first month. Your stomach is still in surgical shock (numb) and for the most part isn’t really sending out any signals. It does get easier…. I’m a little far out from where you are- But, Maybe it’ll give you hope to know That all of the Tiny bites and sips and measuring and all that crap Does fade from the focus by a long shot. I’ve been at or below goal for 3 years… So- "What’d I eat today?" First Coffee- 7:00 Morning Multi-Vitamin/s B-1 and Folate ---Coffee with SlimFastLowCarb as Creamer Breakfast- 7:30 ---Yogurt and a handful of Bran-flakes + strawberries stirred in it. And a bite of my son’s scrambled eggs- (the cooks gotta pre-taste ) Mid-morn feed- 10:00 ---Apple and an Ostrim Meat stick (sort of like a Slim-Jim) Lunch- 1:00- (with my Iron) ---Leftover roast, squash, and pinto Beans. Oh, and a couple of pickles. (normal sized servings- could ma**** all into 1 cup) Afternoon "feed" (right now) 2:30- ---snacking on Hummus with cream cheese dip and red peppers… (bout an hour ago I had the same coffee concoction again- De-Caf this time…but finished the rest of the SlimFastVanillaCream) Dinner will be around 6:30 or 7:00 -- ---plan is for grilled Chicken Breast and some veggies. Peppers and Olives too. Probably fruit and cottage cheese or more yogurt before bed… and Calcium at bedtime. Every day is different, but pretty much I eat by the clock- "I’m Supposed to eat now…" My Doc has his patients eat 5 to 6 smaller meals from the start… So I probably eat a little less "Per-Meal" but more over all through out the day. I haven’t actually been "Hungry" but a few dozen times in the last years. I use SlimFast as my creamer, not for the extra nutrition so much But because I used it my first year and got hooked on the flavor…Odd, but I prefer it to cream or creamer, I wish Starbuck’s stocked it. J I also don’t live on protein bars and shakes and such The thing that’s missing from my intake? Sugar, Bread, Noodles/pasta, rice, potatoes, etc… I rarely eat white High Glycemic Carbs, but get in plenty of Carbs from veggies, fruit and dairy. I’m also amazed at some of the gals on the Mainboard living on – "A bite of Fat-Free/SugarFree Breakfast bar, and some cottage cheese." Usually 3 protein shakes / smoothies, a string cheese, and 6 raw almonds… and followed with some random "taste" of chips or chocolate. Hang in there 2 weeks…. It Does Get Way Easier! Best Wishes- Dx
